Some about the Model Air Club of Thun - Switzerland:
Switzerland is a very small alpine country in the heart of Europe. Thun is a Town of about 40 000 Inhabitants and is situated on the low end of the Lake of Thun. We are directly at the rim of the alps and therfore Thun is also named the Door to the Alps. We - the Model Air Club of Thun are a club of about one hundred members and our Flying Field is on an Army Training Center giving us only restricted acess during weekdays.

IPC Autumn 2014 Report:

Hey you all

We flew the Autumn IPC competition Sunday September 07 from 1000 to 1300

After a real nice weather on Saturday we where very confident for the Sunday flying.
But Sunday morning begun not very promising at the Start as winds blew southern - on your flying field this means turbulent air and only small patches of lift.
Only six Pilots entered the flying field at around 10 o`clock (minimal number of pilots!)
The first rounds where tricky to fly but later on wind changed to northern direction and the covering clouds disappeared more and more.
Thermal bubbles where now produced in quick sequence and it became easier to fly the six minutes.
The models flown where mostly F3J and RES Design - all can give good flight times and the decisive part of a good flight score is the landing.
All in all we achieved a very good top five result for only six pilots flying.
We finished the 5 rounds of the competition short after 1300 PM
After the Flying we had a fine barbeque at the clubhouse that ended only when lots of beer cans where have been emptied.

Happy flying and always some lift under the wings!
